ALOHA, STOP & SMELL THE ROSES

As soon as I pulled this Hawaiian Quilt dress by Cynthia Rowley out of its brown box, I was in love. I love the vintage cut of the dress--you're instantly a woman when you put this dress on, hello waist! You can't help but sway in a certain way in this dress, back and forth, back and forth like a "Island Belle."

CHECK-MATE

Took advantage of today's sun, feeling colorful and ready for summer. Cannot wait for more hot weather! This Tibi skirt is the perfect shade of green to remind you of freshly cut grass, pool parties, melting popsicles and impromptu picnics.

SWEET CHANEL O' MINE: MINI POST

70 degrees? I'll take it. I decided to wear one of my favorite finds from a consignment shop in NYC: a Chanel mini dress made in a delightful light cashmere. Imagine my surprise, finding it wedged between two terrible dresses from the 1980's. I just had to save it from obscurity. It goes without saying that when you wear this dress, you feel equal parts lady-like and equal parts living cupcake. Later, I topped it off with my Zara moto jacket when the weather changed.

THE TRADE WINDS ARE CALLING...

The spirits of Hawaii and other tropical paradises have become muses for designers such as Prada, Charlotte Olympia, Michael Kors and Zara. (Charlotte Olympia's new collection, "Overboard" was inspired by mermaids and all things nautical.) Along with the "island vibe," there have been a frenetic burst of color and flowers. With the weather being as dreary as its been, yes even California has been affected, these things are a sight for sore eyes! Below is a mixture of things I'm dying over- I'd like to call it "Island Pin-Up Meets English Garden."

FEELING LIKE A EUROPEAN

This hot weather in LA is inspiring. The mood for this outfit is 90's meets European chic. What fun to walk down the sidewalk in 80 degree weather feeling like I'm summering in Europe.

CASUAL ERRANDS' DAY-MINI OUTFIT POST

The other day I was swamped with errands with my husband. I feel like there's no reason to look nice even if you're just picking up a few things at Costco.

BELL(E) OF CANYON COUNTRY

Last Sunday, my husband and I had to venture out of our comforts by the foggy sea and into Canyon Country (where summer is still alive and kicking) for our friends' birthday party. This particular dress has been in my closet for several years now, I think eight to be exact. I purchased it at the time because I admired how casual the girl at Marc Jacob wore it. She wore it with shorts and a pair of scuffed up Converses. She looked fashionable and cool and I wanted to replicate that look but I could never find the guts to actually wear it. The dress screams "celebration" and "fun" so I thought it would be appropriate to bring it out for a birthday and I have to tell you, despite the 96 degree heat, I felt pretty damn cool.
