NAVY AS TRIBUTE

Is everyone as excited as I am for the latest Hunger Games installment? My husband and I got up early for a matinee showing of Catching Fire, braving the freezing winds (well as freezing as the California coast can get.) Katniss may be a girl on fire but blue is the hottest of any flame.

A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME…WOULD BE STELLA MCCARTNEY.

Who would've thought a suede legging in November would be a bad choice? Luckily, my top was airy enough to keep me cool. One of the purses that I have been in heavy rotation for this season has been my Stella McCartney falabella tote in a rosy hue. The shearling fabric is so cozy and the color brings cheer to Fall.

I've been enjoying Marilyn in Fashion by Christopher Nickens and George Zeno especially their segment on JAX slacks. Check it out! (Seen with a James Perse turtleneck sweater and Stella McCartney Falabella tote.)

MAD FOR TARTAN

The weather in California has been unusually warm this November therefore dress weather is still in effect. For a morning movie date with my husband to see the new Thor film, I decided to break out my newest Zara find: a tartan maxi lingerie-inspired maxi dress with a high slit. When I saw this on the website, I instantly grew mad…for tartan! The lace edges reminded me also, of a few Victoria Beckham slip-inspired dresses and I adore Vic. The dress has a low back and even the extra small is a tad big for me in the front so I had to pair it with a lacy bra from American Apparel. I don't normally like to have my bra show with a low back but I thought just this once, for the God of Thunder, it will be okay.

SNOW WHITE AND HER JEWELS

Even though Halloween has come and gone, I'm still feeling inspired by fairy tales and their characters. My most recent collage features a peek into Snow White's mind and what's she craving for this winter. Lots of floral, shimmer, and sophisticated shapes!

MINI INSPIRATION POST #1: DITA

I don't know about you but Dita Von Teese is one of my favorite style icons. I adore her vintage, feminine look and how she uses modern day pieces with her pin-up style. Below are a few shots of her around Los Angeles. I just love how she paired her floral dress with a pair of futuristic-inspired Tom Ford cat eye sunnies and small heeled pumps. (I recently acquired these sunnies through an online sale but I haven't had an idea of how to wear them until now!)

MINI OUTFIT POST: INSTAGRAM PHOTOS

I've been quite naughty about updating my blog with outfits of the day and I apologize! When I'm popping out for just a few hours, I find it's easier to take a photo of my outfit for Instagram. Below are a compilation of the most recent outfits.

Equipment Sloane Crew neck Sweater, Alice+Olivia suede leggings, Celine Trio purse, Tom Ford Nikita sunnies and Charlotte Olympia Bite Me Kitty Vampire flats.

This Zara faux leather moto jacket is probably one of the most smartest buys I've done this year. The weight and feel is wonderful and identical to real leather. Plus the price isn't too steep; I don't see the point in spending $$$$ for a trendy piece.

Zara faux leather motorcycle jacket, Equipment blouse with sequined birds,  Rag & Bone/Jeans, Christian Louboutin Jimmynetta suede boots in Bronze, Celine Trio purse,  Tom Ford Nikita sunnies.

Speaking of smart buys, I'm in love with this Tibi lace midi skirt. I have found my length in terms of skirts and I'm amassing a small collection of them.

James Perse tank, Tibi lace midi skirt, Tom Ford Nikita sunnies, Michael Kors gladiator sandals and Saint Laurent Chyc purse.

WHAT A WITCH: HALLOWEEN EDITION

For our annual Halloween party, I was inspired by Salem, MA and witches. "The Witch" is probably one of the most common Halloween costumes and why wouldn't it be? Who wouldn't want to be a beautiful, powerful and magical being? The costume is normally comprised of the usual suspects: pointy hat, broom and a combination of purple/black in. Some go the traditional route of warty and green while others try to sex it up. I wanted to do something more realistic, an ode to Salem times and the hangings that occurred (I used my hair as a noose) with a bit of modern flair. I don't think the witches of Salem would've worn Christian Louboutin booties but then again, they were known to push the envelope.
