Snow (White After Labor Day)

Summer may be over, but the heat isn't. In celebration of my recovery, I decided to go all out today with whites and color. Crop tops and bralets have been on my list this year-my favorite so far is by Jill Stuart. With my freshly altered Alaia skirt (did I curse the gods altering it to fit?) I broke out my Louboutin Espadrille wedges and headed into Beverly Hills. Hi ho, hi ho, off to shopping I go!

Fun floral bobbi pins turns my milkmaid braid into a garden.

MINI HAIR INSPIRATION+TUTORIAL

MINI HAIR INSPIRATION + TUTORIAL

Hair. It's always been one of my favorite things on a woman and being a woman. I always remember the mermaids in "Peter Pan" sunning and working on their hair while on their rocks. There's nothing like that feeling of combing through freshly washed hair and styling it to your liking. For most of my life, I've had long hair but I wasn't always allowed to style it the way I wanted to. For many years, I had to wear my hair in a tight braid or pony tail. I vowed that when I was older, I'd always wear it down. Now, that I am older, I realize that "down" isn't always fun. Sometimes, you need a little extra for that "wow" factor. Lately, I've been into floral crowns, headpieces and milkmaid braids. Of course, fresh bangs are always a must.

(Sharply cut bangs curled and clean are always important.)

This summer, I found a new way to style my hair--the milkmaid braid. A couple of my friends have asked me how to do the hairstyle and some suggested that I make a YouTube tutorial. I decided, why not? I've included it below.

FLORAL BIRTHDAY

It's been a while since I've posted. I apologize! I've been out the last few weeks with a horrible bout of pneumonia. Stuck in bed, this little wolf was howling her lungs out! My first outing in weeks happened to be on my 26th birthday. I wore a floral slip dress with a pair of Miu Miu platform heels (probably the most comfortable heels I own; they certainly kept me grounded when I felt weak) and a vintage Bottega Veneta clutch. Fun fact: This dress used to belong to my mom and she wore it as a wedding dress.

HUNTER'S MISTRESS

I found some of my mom's scarfs while cleaning out my closet the other day and was thrilled they survived. Hermes, Louis Vuitton and more, oh my! Luckily, they came at a time where I needed inspiration. For my friend's birthday, I chose the hunting themed Hermes scarf and decided to wear it as a top. It was pretty simple, I took two corners and tied it tightly around my neck and the other two corners in the back. Instantly, I felt like the Huntsman's sidekick/mistress, sorry Snow White. I completed the look with my Charlotte Olympia pouch (from her new Fairy Tale collection) and my favorite Louboutin boots. Since the scarf itself can lean into old-lady territory, I wore Rag & Bone's Hyde jeans to "rock'n'roll-it-up."
